General Age : 16.5 to 19.5 years
SC/ST Age : 5 years(24.5 years)
OBC Age : 3 years(22.5 years)
Nationality: Indian citizen
Marital Status: Unmarried
Educational Qualification: Must have completed 12th grade/or appearing with Physics and Mathematics as subjects. Students from any stream (Arts/Commerce) cannot join the Army, Air force, Navy through NDA.They can join through CDS
Exam Pattern :
General Ability Test [GAT]
Covers English, General Knowledge (Physics, Chemistry, General Science, History, Geography, etc.),& Current Affairs. Covers topics from Class 12 Mathematics.
Marks
Mathematics paper = 300 Marks, GAT paper = 600 Marks.. Total [900] Marks
Exam conducted
Two times/year, i.e.,, April & November
Governing Body
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)
Qualified Candidates are called for the SSB interview.
Selection Process :
Physical and Medical Test
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)- Running, Push-up, Pull-up, Sqat, Sit-up, etc
Medical examination at the Service Selection Board (SSB).
General health check-up, urine analysis, blood tests, vision test, Dental test, hearing test, chest X-ray

It is a process for the selection of candidates for joining only the Air Force
[SSB] Service Selection Board - Army/Navy
It is a process of five days to evaluate a candidate’s aptitude, personality, and suitability for his/her career in the Indian defence forces
[SSB] Stage1 / Stage2
Stage 1: Conducting Officer Intelligence Rating [OIR] tests and Picture Perception and Description Test [PPDT]
Stage 2: Group Testing Officer (GTO) tasks, Psychological tests, and Interview.
After qualifying, Stage II candidates are recommended for admission to the NDA..
The final allocation/selection to the Air Force, Army, and Navy will depend on merit, preference & medical fitness of candidates.
Training Duration: The duration of Training at NDA is 3 years, after which Cadets are sent to their respective arms for further training
"Battalions and Squadrons"
A Cadet is allotted to one of the 18 Squadrons
No. 1 Battalion: Alpha Squadron, Bravo Squadron, Charlie Squadron and Delta Squadron.
No. 2 Battalion: Echo Squadron, Foxtrot Squadron, Golf Squadron and Hunter Squadron.
No. 3 Battalion: India Squadron, Juliet Squadron, Kilo Squadron and Lima Squadron.
No. 4 Battalion: Mike Squadron, November Squadron, Oscar Squadron and Panther Squadron.
No 5 Battalion: Quebec Squadron, Romeo Squadron
